{"product_id":"c8-corvette-zebulon-diffuser","title":"C8 Corvette - Zebulon Diffuser with mount kit","description":"\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\"\u003eAMT Motorsport is proud to have partnered with one of the best names in aerodynamics, Zebulon Motorsport Consulting, to offer the first motorsport-grade diffuser available for the C8 Corvette.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\"\u003eUtilizing GM CAD files and 3D scans of our own car, this diffuser has been designed to take advantage of the exceptionally flat floor inherent to the C8 platform - allowing room for aftermarket sway bars, factory control arms, positioning with our F5 Wing mounts, and our bespoke quick release mounting system. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\"\u003ePaired with our 78x14 F5 Wing and Zebulon front splitter, this part can vastly increase a race car's aerodynamic efficiency, adding downforce and reducing drag.  Designed through an iterative design process utilizing Computational Fluid Dynamics and validated in a wind tunnel, the strake placement and shape of the diffuser have all been tuned specifically to maximize its overall performance. The footprint of the diffuser tunnel section is 37in x 37in and reach a height of 6.5 inches.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\"\u003e\u003cb\u003eOn Track Performance\u003c\/b\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\"\u003eWe tested this diffuser at an open track day at NJMP Thunderbolt in March of 2026 and we were blown away by how effective it was. We ran two baseline sessions in the morning on fresh tires, and set out for a third session without the diffuser. After a few laps we rolled into the pits, slapped the diffuser on, and immediately went 1.2 seconds faster. Further tuning through the day allowed us to remove wing angle which increased top speed and allowed a little higher mid corner speed in the high speed stuff. Driver confidence and outright speed increased, and led to a total lap time reduction of 1.7 seconds on a 1:15 course, which is pretty crazy.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\"\u003eFurthermore, we know it's making a whole bunch of downforce, since we cracked the thing right down the middle. We did not account for just how much suction this part would make, Our hard mounting points at the 4 corners of the diffuser were not enough, and the center section sucked down to the track and ground off the strakes, \u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003ca href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/shorts\/QR4LC071JiM\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"\u003eHere's a quick video\u003c\/a\u003e\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e discussing that situation.  We've addressed this with a rivnut that is installed in a stock aluminum plate right under the transmission, and our mounting kit will include a custom, finger-twistable, aero profiled screw so that install and removal of the diffuser will be a fast and tool-less process.  We leave this diffuser attached when street driving, and yes it will scrape occasionally if you're not being thoughtful about it. Basically if your splitter scrapes, then your diffuser will also probably scrape. We remove it going up and down the trailer.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0);\"\u003eOur custom mounting solution uses quick release Protex latches and pins - just like the Pratt and Miller GT3 car. The kit in our car is made from 3D printed aluminum. This setup is just as strong as any billet pieces we make. We are not yet certain if we will machine these parts in house from billet or continue to include 3D printed parts.
