A collaboration between 2 of the most highly respected names in the Corvette business - GSpeed and AMT Motorsport! Drop spindles are a very popular modification for both track and street-driven Corvettes. GM engineers did a fantastic job optimizing the suspension geometry on the C5/C6 Corvette, however as you lower the car to improve handling you're also compromising that excellent factory suspension geometry. Drop spindles raise the wheel hubs 1" so the car is lowered by the same amount. Lowering the car in this way keeps the suspension working in the range that GM intended while also preserving shock travel.
This design is a full update by GSpeed so it not only lowers the car an inch, but includes many additional nuances to improve upon the original GM spindle design to include more negative camber and improved bump steer geometry. Be advised these spindle add -3 degrees of camber, so if you're looking for "street car" alignment numbers then these are not the parts for you. The brake caliper mounts are also beefed up to improve braking feel and eliminate flex of the brake calipers. This updated design proved its effectiveness after extensive testing on GSpeed's all conquering "SledgeHammer" C5 race car which won all national championships it entered with NASA in the 2017-2019 seasons. The geometry differs enough from other drop spindle designs that you will need to re-align the car if you're switching to the X-Wife spindles.
GSpeed and AMT have worked together to bring the superior GSpeed design to market coupled with AMT's precision manufacturing capabilities. All X-Wife spindles start as 70 lbs billets of 6061-T6 aluminum and are whittled down on our 5-axis CNC to the 6.5 lbs assemblies you see here. In place of upper ball joints we instead use an aerospace-grade Radial RYT-10 spherical bearing and custom machined upper pin made from heat treated 17-4PH stainless steel. While competitors use a bearing that can fail in as little as 5 track days (as we learned the hard way) we guarantee these bearings for 5 years. We offer our spindles in a bare aluminum finish or they can be custom anodized to the color of your choice. As always, everything is made 100% in house at the AMT facility in New York from US-sourced materials. We guarantee the spindles for life, so if you ever manage to break one we will replace the part free of charge.
Since these spindles are made to order, please allow 6 weeks for them to be machined and shipped to your location.
