For the real C8 track nerds out there, may we humbly present the cheapest, easiest way to add braking* and aero performance** to your vehicle - our Brake Duct Block off plates.

"Why the hell would you want to remove air flow to your brakes," you ask incredulously "everyone on the Internet knows you have to put as much air as possible into your brakes." Well as with most things you hear on the Internet, there are a whole lot of asterisks that go along with the above statement.

On a car with factory brakes, pads, and fluid, cooling them as much as possible is certainly not a waste of time.*  Those factory parts can only take so much abuse before the system starts to over heat, and in the case of the C8, it will actually give you in-car warnings as it starts to happen. However, when you've made the switch to a pro-level motorsports braking setup like the AP Radical kits we offer, those systems are built to take the heat and in fact, AP will tell you that you'll reduce pad taper and extend pad life if you remove the cooling ducts from your car.* Yup, that awkward $400 brake cooling kit with those air ducts you hit every time you turn the wheel can come right off once you have an AP kit on your car. We didn't believe it til' we tested the theory on our C5 race car, but sho' nuff, pad taper was eliminated and pad life was extended with the brake cooling kit removed and we've been blocking off our brake ducts ever since.

*Do NOT put our block off plates on a car with a factory brake system,

So if your awesome AP brakes and G-loc pads don't need loads of air to help them operate, you can then use that extra air to work the splitter of your car**. We tested these block off plates on our car in the A2 Wind Tunnel and were rather astounded to see a 44% increase in front downforce! We thought something was broken in the sensors but after we double checked the data our findings were verified. These block off plates were by far the biggest surprise of our day in the wind tunnel. Sucking the extra air under car to work the splitter means we lost 6% down force in the rear, but we'll always choose to add extra downforce to the front where it's hard to make. The ducts also freed up 2hp at 140mph, so they improve the overall efficiency of the car.  So basically they're little 3D printed miracles.

**These block off plates are likely a waste of time if you do not have a proper splitter on your car, but we did not run them in the wind tunnel with the Z51 splitter to verify

Yup - we're 3D printing these babies. They're printed from carbon filament so they can withstand a smack or two from track and road debris, will fit perfectly into the grill of your C8, and they are shipped with ultra strong VHB tape to ensure they're not going anywhere once they're properly affixed. Can you cover up your brake duct openings with good ol' fashioned duct tape? Sure you can, but these look factory and will last a hell of a lot longer than a piece of tape.

These do NOT fit the C8Z, so if you're looking for C8Z plates, send us an e-mail and we can come up with a design for you.
