AMT Motorsport partnered with Zebulon Motorsport Consulting to bring proper motorsport-grade rear aero to the C8 Corvette—designed to take advantage of the exceptionally flat floor GM gave us instead of simply hanging a few decorative fins under the bumper.
Developed from GM CAD data and 3D scans of our own car, the Zebulon Diffuser was designed around the actual C8 chassis, factory control arms, aftermarket sway bars, and a completely custom quick-release mounting system.
Paired with our Zebulon Splitter and 78 × 14 F5 Wing, this diffuser helps turn the C8 into a complete aero package—adding rear downforce, allowing less wing angle, improving high-speed confidence, and doing all of it without permanently trapping a giant carbon-fiber floor underneath the car.
This was not styled in a vacuum and shipped after somebody decided it looked aggressive enough. The geometry was developed for the C8, validated with real aerodynamic tools, and then beaten up on our own race car.
The diffuser was developed using GM CAD files and 3D scans of our own C8. Its shape and placement account for the factory control arms, aftermarket sway bars, and the Corvette’s unusually flat underbody.
Designed around the actual car—not adapted from a generic tunnel.
The tunnel section occupies a massive 37 × 37-inch footprint and reaches 6.5 inches tall. The tunnel profiles and strake placement were developed through an iterative CFD process and validated in a wind tunnel to maximize the useful performance of the available space.
Big enough to do real work—not just fill the space below the bumper.
During testing at NJMP Thunderbolt, we installed the diffuser between sessions and immediately went 1.2 seconds faster. Continued tuning allowed us to reduce wing angle, gain top speed, improve high-speed confidence, and ultimately cut 1.7 seconds from a 1:15 lap.

The included AMT mounting system uses custom aluminum brackets, Protex latches, and locating pins to make the giant diffuser removable without dismantling the back of the car. A center support uses a custom finger-operated, aerodynamically profiled screw for fast, tool-less installation and removal.
Secure enough for serious aero load, but removable when it is time to load the trailer.
Our original four-corner mounting arrangement underestimated how much suction this thing would create. The center pulled down, contacted the track, and damaged the strakes. So we added a proper center support and made the mounting system substantially better.
Watch the VideoZebulon developed the diffuser geometry, tunnel shapes, and strake placement around the C8 platform. AMT developed the Corvette-specific quick-release mounting system and tested the entire package on our own car.
When combined with the Zebulon Splitter and AMT F5 Wing, the diffuser allows the rear aero to produce more of the load so the wing can be run at a more efficient angle—adding grip without simply piling on drag.
